Mobile Update

When I started this blog at the beginning of the year, I had 53,000 miles now as we approach the midpoint of March, with spring around the corner, we are just shy of 60,000 miles. Enough with the tidbits. This week I finally took the plunge and mounted a ball mount on the car for the SideKick antenna. Why I didn't do it sooner, don't ask! Installation was straightforward and as you can see from the attached pictures, looks pretty good too. Best of all no more worrying about the antenna everytime I hit a bump in the road! The mount comes from Breedlove Machine Shop and is excellent quality. This mount will most likely outlast the car! On the outside you can see the brass ball mount along with the aluminum plate. Behind the plate is a rubber gasket. Inside the trunk is an identical steel plate, along with a feedthrough coax connector. (You can see all these on the website above.) Many thanks to Alan K0BG for such an informative web site regarding mobile installations K0BG Mobile Installation
