Happy New Year & welcome to 2013. (Twenty-Thirteen). Its been on the cold side this first week of January but then again in the North-East that is what one expects. Still about 2 weeks away from the climatological middle of winter. With that being said most of my projects are being concentrated indoors for the next few months. The biggest and by far not the hardest is just to give myself a kick and get on the air a bit more than last year. Seems as though something always comes up but that shouldn't be an excuse. Just need to use the bands that I can operate on!
The big project of the year is going to be replacing the satellite rotor on the roof. I have had the replacement for over a year sitting in the closet but it takes 3 people to take the old one down and put the new one up. If anyone is up to helping out this spring its not too high off the ground!
Lastly I have seen quite an improvement in my Noaaport downlink here at the house. Not sure if its the cold temps, lack of foliage or if they have been making some changes at the Uplink which just happens to be 1 mile from my work qth!
That's it for now, til next time 73!
