I had to do a bit of yard work this weekend and in the process ran a test with my C/N issue on the DVB-S2 signal. What I found was with the tower up nearly all the way, my C/N dropped about 2db. In the graphic at left the tower is up until the spike near the very end. At that point the tower has been lowered to 12 feet agl.
Other than the C/N signal stayed constant and I errors remained the same. I'm just not happy without the extra margin. On the legacy DVB-S signal I also dropped about 2 db but that is running about 14.0 with the tower down and 12.0 with the tower up. I'm hoping things work out as I really don't want to have to move the Noaaport dish as this will require another pole and digging another hole in the rock Connecticut soil!
