Another big crowd was on hand at the 2008 Dayton Hamvention. Lots of people outside along with plenty of crowds looking over the inside exhibits. Here is a picture of one of the smaller booths in the main arena. All the major dealers as well as some of the smaller companies were doing a brisk business today. Some great buys on gear, including the Kendwood TH-F6A for $280.
Only a few new items to report. Timewave has come out with 2 Bluetooth to radio interfaces. Icom has a new rig, the IC-7200. Nothing new from Kenwood. Yaesu was displaying a prototype of the VX-8, which will have 2 meters, 70cm, 6 meters and 220. The first 3 5 watts output and 1.5 watts on 220.
Plenty of people outside in the flea market, lots of stuff but nothing that really interested this observer.
Larry WA2PDK, Bob N2SU, Dave N2AAM and myself are having a great time along with thousand of other radio enthusiasts.
Tomorrow I will start the trek home, playing some HF and VHF along the way.
